About Me

Bess Corriveau

I served in the United States Marine Corps for 26 years. Yes, you read that right, little ole me was in the biggest boy’s club in the USA.  I’ve gone to six countries and have been stationed at 15 bases – some of them twice.  That’s a lot of packing, moving, and unpacking!

While serving in the Marine Corps, I discovered there are three things that are important to service-members: chow time, payday and mail call. I loved Mail Call, especially when I was deployed or away from my friends and family.  It was especially important to those younger Marines who depended more on their people from back home.  You also become very grateful for the things you have in your life.

When I retired from the Marine Corps, I hung up my dog tags and put away my boots and now live in Virginia. I'd come back to sending cards to people that I felt needed them.  As well as, jotting done inspirational quotes, affirmations and reading books about empowerment and gratitude.

I felt a need to share these and started making 'words of inspiration', 'morning motivation' and 'happy mailbox moments' for anyone who wanted them.  With the world as it is now, in my mind we all need some positivity and a reminder to be grateful.

Let's make the world a better place together.

Set your sights high and go after it!  If I can do it, so can you!
